Week one was a tipping nightmare, and week two wasn't much better.

That doesn't mean the footy was any less entertaining.

If anything, it was a ripping weekend.

Collingwood 17.8 (110) def. Richmond 10.6 (66) by 44 points

Jordan De Goey (3 votes), Dayne Beams (2), Adam Treloar (1) 

It was a black-and-white wash as Collingwood flogged an injury-ravaged Richmond outift by 44 points. Jordan De Goey booted five goals in the Magpies’ big win at the MCG, bringing down big marks and finishing off chances like he had the ball on a string. Teammates Dayne Beams and Adam Treloar also polled in a what was a significant night for the Pies.

Adelaide 12.16 (88) def. Sydney 8.14 (62) by 26 points

Rory Sloane (3 votes), Josh P. Kennedy (2), Brad Crouch (1) 

Rory Sloane (21 disposals, six clearances and eight tackles) and Brad Crouch (26, six tackles) led the Crows around the park as they snuck away from the SCG with four premiership points. Josh P. Kennedy's 36 touches were the most for the game as the Swans fell 26 points short.

St Kilda 10.16 (76) def. Essendon 9.11 (65) by 11 points

Jade Gresham (3 votes), Jake Stringer (2), Jack Sinclair (1)

St Kilda are now 2-0 to start the season, and best-on-ground Jade Gresham kicked the sealer. Jake Stringer copped an ankle injury but was one of few Bombers to play with much energy, while Jack Sinclair's nine tackles kept St Kilda's foot on the throat.


 

Port Adelaide 13.10 (88) def. Carlton 11.6 (72) by 16 points

Scott Lycett (3 votes), Patrick Cripps (2), Tom Rockcliff (1)

Port's tough 16-point win against Carlton at Adelaide Oval on Saturday was led by former West Coast premiership-winning ruckman Scott Lycett. Lycett's numbers from the game were massive - 25 disposals (17 of those contested), 10 clearances, 34 hit-outs, five marks and four inside 50s. Patrick Cripps was an ever-present danger for the winless Blues, while Tom Rockcliff didn't put a foot wrong.

Geelong 20.6 (126) def. Melbourne 6.10 (46) by 80 points

Patrick Dangerfield (3 votes), Tim Kelly (2), Clayton Oliver (1)

Patrick Dangerfield kicked two goals and amassed 37 disposals in Geelong's huge win, and is clearly eyeing off a second Brownlow should he replicate such performances this season. Tim Kelly (30 dispsoals, five tackles, 10 clearances and a goal) was also mega, while Clayton Oliver brought in 44 touches on a punishing night for the Dees.

West Coast 16.8 (104) def. GWS 7.10 (52) by 52 points

Luke Shuey (3 votes), Jeremy McGovern (2), Lachie Whitfield (1)

On a day West Coast unfurled their premiership flag, Luke Shuey played like he was chasing another Norm Smith. Shuey had two goals and 13 uncontested possessions at half-time, and didn't slow down. Eagles teammate Jeremy McGovern grabbed 18 disposals and 11 marks. Lachie Whitfield had 33 touches, including 13 marks, as the Giants went down by 52 points.

Brisbane 16.11 (107) def. North Melbourne 13.9 (87) by 20 points

Lachie Neale (3 votes), Charlie Cameron (2), Ben Cunnington (1)

Former Docker Lachie Neale had a career-high 43 possessions to help Brisbane pip North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. Charlie Cameron dazzled with four goals, while Ben Cunnington was again solid in a losing cause, polling one vote.

Western Bulldogs 16.10 (106) def. Hawthorn 13.9 (87) by 19 points

Josh Schache (3 votes), Jack Macrae (2), Ricky Henderson (1)

Former No.2 draft pick Josh Schache helped the Bulldogs overturn a 30-point three-quarter time deficit to win over Hawthorn at the MCG. Schache kicked three goals in the final quarter, with two coming from the ruck. Ball-magnet Jack Macrae was again impressive, polling two votes off 36 touches, while Ricky Henderson was strong in a losing effort.


 

Gold Coast 7.19 (61) def. Fremantle 8.10 (58) by three points

Jarrod Harbrow (3 votes), Bradley Hill (2), Alex Sexton (1)

Many thought the Suns would struggle to win at all in 2019. Two rounds in and they're on the board. With his 32 disposals, nine marks and seven inside 50s, Jarrod Harbrow was playing like a man on a mission. Bradley Hill managed 32 touches in a difficult defeat for the Dockers, while Alex Sexton kicked four goals to lead the Coleman race heading to round three.
