He copped a tidal wave of negative public perception for his theatrics against Essendon, but Alex Rance has divided opinion this week for another apparent dive.

Launching himself into a contest with Port Adelaide forward Charlie Dixon, the Richmond defender hit the deck in similar fashion to his flop with Bomber Shaun McKernan.

“It’s the worst free kick of the year,” former Port tagger Kane Cornes told the AFL website on last's round's dive.

“Let’s face it and be honest, great player, but he has a history with staging.

“He’s channelling his best Superman impersonation. He’ll wake up and be embarrassed.”

Only this time there appeared to be more contact.

A free kick was blown but it was in regards to another incident between Kamdyn McIntosh and Sam Gray as the umpires had no issue with Rance's antics.

A number of supporters laid in and took aim at the recurring pattern.

While others believed Rance had a case to defend himself.
