Collingwood forward Alex Fasolo is reportedly set to join Carlton as a free agent.

According to The Age's Sam McClure, the 26-year-old is in advanced talks with the Blues regarding a three-year deal worth around a million dollars.

Fasolo has struggled for game time in the seniors in 2018, missing out through injuries and form.

He has played 101 career games, but just added one this season as he has battled ankle and shoulder problems.

Fasolo is originally from Western Australia and has been linked with a move to West Coast or Fremantle at various stages in his career.

He took time off last season as he dealt with mental health issues, with some commentators thinking a move back home would benefit him.

Fasolo isn't the only injured member of the Collingwood forward line who is out of contract at season's end, with livewire Jamie Elliott also a free agent.

Elliott has had an even worse run with injuries, not playing a minute of senior football in 2018 as he deals with hamstring injuries.

The 25-year-old would present a significant injury risk to any potential suitors and Collingwood are acutely aware of his effectiveness when fit, so he is likely to remain at the Pies for 2019.

Fasolo and Elliott's have been just two of a host of injuries to Nathan Buckley's side this season, seeing their forward structure change somewhat.

The improvement of the likes of Jordan De Goey, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Mason Cox, along with Jaidyn Stephenson's emergence has lifted Collingwood to fifth position with two home-and-away rounds to go.

The Pies take on Port Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
