Tom Lynch edged that little bit closer to a move to Richmond on Friday with the Tigers formally submitting their offer to the key forward.
Richmond have tabled a seven year contract at around $6.5 million.
As a restricted free agent, Gold Coast have the option to match the offer in front of Lynch, potentially forcing a trade between the two clubs.
While this is unlikely, Lynch will probably have to wait until Monday to confirm his future at Tigerland, with the Suns having three days to respond to the free agency offer.

Gold Coast are reportedly set to cop the AFL's compensation pick of three, giving them a strong draft hand as they look to rebuild their gutted list.
According to The Age, Lynch will be paid around $500,000 for the first few seasons of the heavily back-ended deal, rising to around $1.5 million at the completion of the contract.
That would represent a pay cut over the life of the deal - Lynch was on around a million per season at the Suns.
Lynch's move to Richmond is the culmination of some serious contract shuffling among the club's big guns in recent seasons.
Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Trent Cotchin and Alex Rance have all been re-signed recently, with several deals being restructured to make room for Lynch.
The 25-year-old played 126 games for the Suns, kicking 254 goals.
He was made co-captain alongside Steven May ahead of the 2017 season.
Should he play out the life of his contract at Tigers, he will be 33 by the time it wraps up.
