Deadline day. Deep breaths everyone. Here's what went down:

Tim Kelly goes...nowhere. The Eagles couldn't convince the Cats to part with the wantaway midfielder.

Essendon pick up Dylan Shiel and a future second-round pick for pick nine and future first rounder.

Dayne Beams, picks 41 and 44 head to Collingwood for picks 18, 56 and 2019 first rounder.

Sydney's Nic Newman joins Carlton for a future fourth-round selection.

Travis Colyer gets to the Dockers for a future fourth-round selection.

Jordan Roughead joins Collingwood for pick 75.

Jackson Thurlow moves from Geelong to Sydney for pick 70.

Jack Hombsch gets to the Suns in exchange for Port Adelaide's future fourth rounder.

Steven May and Kade Kolodjashnij are traded to Melbourne for pick six.

Rory Lobb also gets to the Dockers, with a bunch of picks changing hands with GWS.

Jesse Hogan gets to Freo along with pick 65, in exchange for picks six and 23.

Lachie Neale gets to Brisbane along with pick 30, in exchange for picks six, 19 and 23.

Sam Mayes and pick five move from Brisbane to Port, with the Lions receiving pick six, pick 35 and a future third rounder.

Chad Wingard moves to the Hawks along with a future third rounder in exchange for Ryan Burton, picks 15 and 35 and future fourth round selection.

Adelaide Crows trades, players and 2018 draft picks

In:

Tyson Stengle (Richmond)

Out:

Out - Mitch McGovern (Carlton)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

8, 13, 16, 21, 73, 83

#Tyson Stengle

What went down:

It was all about trying to trade up their first pick as far as the Crows are concerned in their pursuit of talented young South Australians Jack Lukosius, Izak Rankine and Connor Rozee, but they did manage a little trade with Richmond on Tuesday , swapping pick 68 for small forward Tyson Stengle.

Delisted:

Harry Dear, Jackson Edwards, Ben Jarman

Retired:

Sam Gibson, Curtly Hampton

Brisbane Lions

In:

Marcus Adams (Bulldogs)
Lachie Neale (Fremantle)
Lincoln McCarthy (Geelong)

Out:

Sam Mayes (Port Adelaide)
Dayne Beams (Collingwood)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

18, 30, 35, 56, 78

#Lachie Neale

What went down:

The Lions lost a genuine gun in Beams at the 11th hour but picked up one in Neale. McCarthy and Adams should be decent pick ups and they go on to the draft with an okay hand.

Delisted:

Jake Barrett, Claye Beams, Tom Bell, Rohan Bewick, Liam Dawson, Marco Paparone

Retired:

Cian Hanley

Carlton Blues

In:

Mitch McGovern (Adelaide)
Alex Fasolo (Collingwood)
Will Setterfield (GWS)
Nic Newman (Sydney)

Out:

2018 draft picks after trade period:

1, 69, 71, 77

#Will Setterfield

What went down:

The Blues missed out on Dylan Shiel but have picked up his former teammate in Will Setterfield. Mitch McGovern came in for effectively the Blues' two second round selections and Fasolo will walk in the door for nothing. Nic Newman will be a decent pick up. The Blues go the draft with the first pick and not much else.

Delisted:

Jesse Glass-McCasker, Aaron Mullett, Cameron O’Shea, Matthew Shaw, Sam Rowe, Jed Lamb, Sam Kerridge, Nick Graham

Retired:

Alex Silvagni, Matthew Wright

Collingwood Magpies

In:

Dayne Beams  (Brisbane)
Jordan Roughead (Western Bulldogs)

Out:

Alex Fasolo (Carlton)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

41, 44, 51, 57, 93

Dayne Beams

What went down:

Dayne Beams dropped a bombshell by and the Pies swooped to pick him up in the final minutes of the window. The Pies also picked up former Dog Jordan Roughead. Collingwood managed to ward off some interest from rivals to re-sign the likes of Darcy Moore and Tom Langdon. They go the draft with nothing until pick 41, but with a midfield like theirs, who needs kids?

Delisted:

Retired:

Essendon Bombers

In:

Dylan Shiel (GWS)

Out:

Travis Colyer (Fremantle)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

34, 66, 84

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

What went down:

They gave up two first-round picks but Dylan Shiel lands at Tullamarine at the last possible moment. Otherwise a fairly quiet window. Obviously backing their last to improve and the inclusion of Shiel has to help that.

Delisted:

Brendon Goddard, Josh Green, Jackson Merrett

Retired:

Fremantle Dockers

In:

Reece Conca (Richmond, free agent)
Jesse Hogan (Melbourne)
Rory Lobb (GWS)
Travis Colyer (Essendon)

Out:

Lachie Neale (Brisbane)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

14, 31, 43, 65, 81

#Jesse Hogan

What went down:

Jesse Hogan and pick 65 get to the club for what looks to be a bargain, with the Dockers giving up pick six and 23.  Rory Lobb also joins the club, with GWS and Freo flipping a bunch of picks along with the ruckman.  Lachie Neale eventually departs the club , heading to Brisbane along with pick 30 in exchange for picks six, 19 and 55.

Delisted:

Retired:

Michael Johnson, Danyle Pearce, Lee Spurr

Geelong Cats

In:

Luke Dahlhaus (Western Bulldogs)
Gary Rohan (Sydney)

Out:

Lincoln McCarthy (Brisbane)
George Horlin-Smith (Gold Coast)
Jackson Thurlow (Sydney)

2018 draft pick after trade period:

12, 50, 59, 60, 70, 87

#gary rohan

What went down:

Geelong held firm on Tim Kelly, seeing the wantaway midfielder remain with the Cats for 2019. Fringe Cats Lincoln McCarthy, George Horlin-Smith and Jackson Thurlow all found new clubs, while Luke Dahlhaus and Gary Rohan join the club. The Cats still have their first-round pick but it's pretty quiet for a while after that.

Delisted:

Aaron Black, Stewart Crameri, Ryan Gardner, Cory Gregson, Matthew Hayball, Timm House

Retired:

Gold Coast Suns

In:

Anthony Miles (Richmond)
Corey Ellis (Richmond)
George Horlin-Smith (Geelong)
Sam Collins (mature-age access pick)
Jack Hombsch (Port Adelaide)

Out:

Tom Lynch  (Richmond)
Aaron Hall (North Melbourne)
Jack Scrimshaw (Hawthorn)
Steven May (Melbourne)
Kade Kolodjashnij (Melbourne)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

2, 3, 6, 24, 29, 80

#aaron hall

What went down:

It's not pretty reading for the Suns. They'll be going to the draft with a heap of early picks but that's because their list has been absolutely pillaged. Lynch. Gone. May. Gone. Scrimshaw. Gone. Hall. Gone. Kolodjashnij. Gone. They pick up a few depth players from around the league but Stuart Dew and his team will be flat out winning a game in 2019.

Delisted:

Michael Barlow, Josh Jaska, Michael Rischitelli, Max Spencer, Mackenzie Willis

Retired:

Matt Rosa

GWS Giants

In:

Out:

Dylan Shiel (Essendon)
Will Setterfield (Carlton)
Tom Scully (Hawthorn)
Rory Lobb (Fremantle)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

9, 11, 19, 25, 52, 89

#rory lobb

What went down:

It was all about clearing cap space for the Giants. Shiel, Scully, Lobb and Setterfield all go, though the Giants do have a solid hand come draft night. They even managed to get their wish of two first rounders for Shiel, albeit one of them next year.

Delisted:

Retired:

Ryan Griffen, Tim Mohr

Hawthorn Hawks

In:

Jack Scrimshaw (Gold Coast)
Tom Scully (GWS)
Chad Wingard (Port Adelaide)

Out:

Taylor Duryea (Western Bulldogs)
Ryan Burton (Port Adelaide)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

53, 90

#chad wingard

What went down:

Wingard, Scully and Scrimshaw look like some quality ins on paper. Burton is a quality young player to lose but if the Scully trade (pick 63) comes off, it'll be one of the all-time bargains. With their first selection at pick 53, the Hawks may as well stay home on draft night.

Delisted:

Kurt Heatherley, Jonathan O’Rourke, Dallas Willsmore

Retired:

Cyril Rioli, Ty Vickery

Melbourne Demons

In:

Steven May (Gold Coast)
Kade Kolodjashnij (Melbourne)
Brayden Preuss (North Melbourne)

Out:

Dean Kent (St Kilda)
Dom Tyson (North Melbourne)
Jesse Hogan (Fremantle)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

23, 28, 54, 62, 91

#Steven May

What went down:

They may not have needed him but the Dees get a gun key defender in Steven May for a pretty good deal. They didn't get two first rounders back for Hogan so the jury is still out there. They go to the draft with their first pick at 23.

Delisted:

Tomas Bugg, Lochie Filipovic, Mitch King, Pat McKenna, Cameron Pederson, Dion Johnstone

Retired:

Bernie Vince, Harley Balic

North Melbourne Kangaroos

In:

Jared Polec (Port Adelaide)
Jasper Pittard (Port Adelaide)
Dom Tyson (Melbourne)
Aaron Hall (Gold Coast)

Out:

Ryan Clarke (Sydney)
Brayden Preuss (Melbourne)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

42, 47, 48, 49, 55, 58, 86

#jared polec

What went down:

North bring in four experienced players ready to step into their 22, though will they be able to lift them into the eight? Importantly, they leave the trade period with plenty of late picks that will allow them to get academy and father-son prospects in this crop.

Delisted:

Billy Hartung, Tom Jeffries, Mitch Hibberd, Oscar Junker, Gordon Narrier, Daniel Nielson, Josh Williams, Declan Mountford

Retired:

Jarrad Waite

Port Adelaide Power

In:

Scott Lycett (West Coast)
Ryan Burton (Hawthorn)
Sam Mayes (Brisbane)

Out:

Jasper Pittard (North Melbourne)
Jared Polec (North Melbourne)
Chad Wingard (Hawthorn
Jack Hombsch (Gold Coast)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

5, 10, 15, 85

#scott lycett

What went down:

Port were again busy in the trade period. The Wingard deal was the big one, seeing Ryan Burton brought back to South Australia. I reckon that could prove a win-win trade. Lycett should free up Ryder, though Polec and Pittard take a lot of outside run with them to North Melbourne. A strong draft hand should allow them to land one of the South Australian young guns in the draft.

Delisted:

Emmanuel Irra, Jimmy Toumpas

Retired:

Lindsay Thomas

Richmond Tigers

In:

Tom Lynch (Gold Coast)

Out:

Reece Conca (Fremantle)
Corey Ellis (Gold Coast)
Anthony Miles (Gold Coast)
Sam Lloyd (Western Bulldogs)
Tyson Stengle (Adelaide Crows)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

17, 37, 64, 68, 74, 92

#Tom Lynch

What went down:

Richmond lost some fringe players but the big fish Lynch lands at Tigerland and they go to the draft with their first-round pick. A successful window.

Delisted:

Retired:

Ben Griffiths, Shaun Hampson

St Kilda Saints

In:

Dean Kent (Melbourne)

Out:

Tom Hickey (West Coast)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

4, 36, 46, 67, 79

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

What went down:

A fairly quiet period for the struggling Saints. Not enough to lift them up the ladder and they can't stock up on gun kids at the draft.

Delisted:

Ray Connellan, Nathan Freeman, Sam Gilbert, Hugh Goddard, Darren Minchington, Nathan Wright, Maverick Weller

Retired:

Koby Stevens

Sydney Swans

In:

Ryan Clarke (North Melbourne)
Jackson Thurlow (Geelong)

Out:

Gary Rohan (Geelong)
Dan Hannebery (St Kilda)
Nic Newman (Carlton)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

26, 33, 38, 39, 40, 88

#ryan clarke

What went down:

Sydney's window was all about clearing cap space for the next couple of years and stockpiling draft picks to get the likes of Nick Blakey in the draft. While they did that, did they do enough to move up the ladder in 2019?

Delisted:

Alex Johnson, Dean Towers, Jordan Foote, Angus Styles, Jake Brown

Retired:

Kurt Tippett

West Coast Eagles

In:

Tom Hickey (St Kilda)

Out:

Scott Lycett (Port Adelaide)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

#Tim Kelly

What went down:

West Coast weren't able to get the Tim Kelly deal over the line despite their best efforts. They lose premiership ruckman Scott Lycett who is replaced by Saint Tom Hickey.

Delisted:

Retired:

Eric Mackenzie

Western Bulldogs

In:

Sam Lloyd (Richmond)
Taylor Duryea (Western Bulldogs)

Out:

Luke Dahlhaus (Geelong)
Jordan Roughead (Collingwood)

2018 draft picks after trade period:

7, 27, 32, 45, 63, 75, 82

#marcus adams

What went down:

Dahlhaus becomes a Cat while Liberatore's future is still up in the air. Sam Lloyd and Taylor Duryea are decent gets while the Dogs have a shot at picking up some solid kids in the draft.

Delisted:

Kieran Collins, Nathan Mullenger-McHugh

Retired:

Shane Biggs, Jack Redpath, Clay Smith
