Brisbane star Dayne Beams isn't going anywhere.

The Lions onballer has been at the centre of speculation in recent weeks that he would seek a move away from the club and back to Victoria.

Beams moved from Collingwood to Brisbane ahead of the 2015 season to be closer to his sick father.

Rumours had been circulating that the 28-year-old was looking at his options despite having two years to run on his deal with the Lions.

The former captain released a statement via the club website on Thursday to dispel the speculation and reaffirm his commitment to the club.

“After having our exit meetings earlier this week, I thought it was a good time to let everybody know I won’t be going anywhere,” Beams said.

"I love the coach, the playing group, and am excited about where this footy club is headed.

“I have never asked for a trade away from the Lions and would like to put an end to any speculation over my playing future. I will be seeing out my contract here.”

Beams has played 168 games since being drafted with pick 29 in 2008 draft.

He's played 58 times for the Lions since his move North and was made captain ahead of last season.

After dealing with a mental health battle following the death of his father, he relinquished the captaincy earlier this season but continued to play at a near career-best level.

He was named in the All Australian 40-man squad but missed out on the final 22 on Wednesday night, not adding to his 2012 honour.

Brisbane finished in 15th place in 2018, winning five games in Chris Fagan's second season in charge, though a promising crop of youngsters and recent improvement would have Lions fans dreaming of a return to the glory days.
