Adelaide

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: Adelaide (SANFL)

Adelaide 6.8 (44) lost to Norwood 12.20 (92) (SANFL Rd 8 - Sat May 22)

After being in and out of the senior team, Will Hamill responded with his best performance since being drafted, gathering 30 disposals and 10 marks across defence.

Andrew McPherson also found plenty of ball in the backline, rebounding the ball from defensive 50 on 13 occasions as Norwood put the pressure on.

Forwards Billy Frampton (three goals) and Elliott Himmellberg (two) both contributed on the scoreboard, while Jackson Hately laid 11 tackles among his 17 disposals.

Brisbane

Brisbane 12.8 (80) lost to Richmond 21.16 (140) (VFL Rd 6  - Sat May 22)

Cam Ellis-Yolmen  keeps knocking on the door of an in-form senior Lions team with 29 possessions, eight tackles and a goal.

Tom Berry found plenty of the ball (26 touches), while Tom Fullarton kicked 3.3 from 18 disposals.

Nakia Cockatoo had 23 possessions as he continues to build match fitness.

Carlton

Carlton 6.10 (46) lost to Box Hill 19.16 (130) (VFL Rd 6 - Sun May 23)

Matthew Kennedy  was the standout in a dirty day for the Blues with 28 possessions, while Sam Ramsay found the ball 23 times.

Josh Honey kicked two of his team's six goals, while Sam Petrevski-Seton struggled to 13 touches.

Brodie Kemp played his first game for the club after being cruelled with injury and had 18 disposals.

Essendon 11.4 (70) lost to North Melbourne 12.13 (85) (VFL Rd 6 - Sat May 22)

Patrick Ambrose  kicked five goals as the Bombers continue to look for more options in attack.

Project ruckman Nick Bryan had 24 disposals and 43 hitouts in a dominant performance.

Marty Gleeson had 16 disposals, while Ned Cahill picked up 14.

Fremantle

Peel Thunder 7.10 (52) lost to Perth 12.8 (80) (WAFL Rd 7 - Sat May 22)

Alex Pearce was struck down by ankle issues as he made his long-awaited return from injury and only had two possessions in limited game time.

Stefan Giro was the leading senior Docker in the disposals with 22, while Lloyd Meek had 19 touches and 47 hitouts.

Reece Conca responded to his senior omission with 15 possessions.

Geelong

Geelong 15.15 (105) defeated Coburg 7.6 (48) (VFL Rd 46 - Thurs May 20)

There was another bag of goals for Josh Jenkins , with the ex-Crow kicking six from 16 disposals.

Charlie Constable had 34 possessions in a huge midfield performance, while Oscar Brownless picked up 26 possessions.

Jordan Clark kicked three behinds and had 20 disposals as he tries to get back into the Geelong senior team.

Gold Coast 5.3 (33) lost to Southport 17.14 (116) (VFL Rd 6 - May 21)

Will Brodie was the shining light in a disappointing performance by the Suns, with 32 possesions and nine tackles.

Jeremy Sharp kicked a goal among his 27 possessions, while Aidan Fyfe edged closer to a senior debut with 27 of his own.

Among the high-profile Suns in the VFL, Ben Ainsworth kicked a goal and had 24 touches, while Jarrod Harbrow found the ball 18 times.

GWS

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: GWS (VFL)

GWS 11.9 (75) defeated Port Melbourne 9.12 (60) (VFL Rd 6 - Sat May 22)

Kieren Briggs had 26 possessions and 45 hitouts after being dropped from the senior team, while Tanner Bruhn kicked three majors.

Nick Shipley booted a goal and had 25 disposals as he put on a quality showing for Giants coach Leon Cameron.

Hawthorn

Box Hill 19.16 (130) defeated Carlton 6.10 (46) (VFL Rd 5 - Sun May 23)

With Ned Reeves performing impressively in the seniors, fellow ruckmen Jon Ceglar (24 touches, 33 hitouts) and Keegan Brooksby (20 and 20) were the Hawks' most dominant players.

Emerson Jeka kicked two goals and took 13 marks, while Tim O'Brien had 18 possessions in a defensive role.

Jack Saunders and Tyler Brockman both kicked two goals, with Conor Nash chipping in with a single major.

Casey Demons 12.13 (85) defeated Sydney 6.9 (45) (VFL Rd 6 - Sun May 23)

Ben Brown  kicked 2.5 as he pressed his claims for a senior recall after Melbourne lost to Adelaide, while Oskar Baker gathered 26 possessions and a goal.

Jay Lockhart  was also prolific with 24 disposals and Majak Daw had his best game in Demons colours with 15 touches.

Tom Sparrow (22 disposals), Jake Bowey (21) and Nathan Jones (17) will all be in senior selection discussions.

North Melbourne

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: North Melbourne (VFL)

North Melbourne 12.13 (85) defeated Essendon 11.4 (70) (VFL Rd 6 - Sat May 22)

North picked up their first win of the season in the VFL, with Tristian Xerri the star, gathering 35 possessions and 27 hitouts in an eye-catching display.

Will Phillips was the best Kangaroos listed midfielder with 28 possessions, while Eddie Ford kicked two goals.

Port Adelaide

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: Port Adelaide (SANFL)

Port Adelaide 13.8 (86) defeated North Adelaide 11.8 (70) (SANFL Rd 8 - Sat May 22)

Sam Mayes was the dominant midfielder on the ground with eight clearances and nine tackles among his 32 possessions.

Martin Frederick pressed claims for a senior recall with 29 disposals, while Boyd Woodcock kicked three goals in a dangerous display up forward.

Sam Hayes had 35 hitouts and Jarrod Lienert continued his consistent form across defence with 24 touches and 13 rebound 50s.

Richmond

Richmond 21.16 (140) defeated Brisbane 12.8 (80) (VFL Rd 6  - Sat May 22)

Callum Coleman-Jones continued banging the door down for a Tigers senior debut, kicking 4.4, gathering 21 possessions and 15 hitouts in a best-on-ground performance.

Josh Caddy was prolific through the midfield with 38 touches and two goals, while Mabior Chol was dangerous up forward, snagging three majors.

Recent senior rookie Will Martyn had 30 disposals and nine tackles, while excitement machine Maurice Rioli kicked a goal and had seven tackles.

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: Sandringham (VFL)

Sandringham 14.9 (93) defeated Aspley 12.10 (82) (VFL Rd 6 - Sat May 22)

Luke Dunstan  and Mason Wood continued to bash the door down for senior selection and both are likely certainties after St Kilda was thrashed by the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.

Dunstan kicked three goals from his 28 disposals, while Wood booted two goals and found the ball 26 times.

Paul Hunter was dominant in the ruck, while Nick Coffield battled to have an impact in his second consecutive VFL game.

Sydney

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: Sydney (VFL)

Casey Demons 12.13 (85) defeated Sydney 6.9 (45) (VFL Rd 6 - Sun May 23)

Prodigious forward Logan McDonald kicked three goals as he continued his development, while Sam Gray was the Swans' best with 30 touches and a goal.

Lewis Taylor (29 possessions) and Colin O'Riordan (28) were also busy in the engine room.

West Coast

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: West Coast (WAFL)

West Coast 3.10 (28) lost to East Perth 12.13 (85) (WAFL Rd 7 - Sat May 22)

Elliot Yeo got through his return from osteitis pubis with 13 disposals and eight tackles in a huge positive for the Eagles.

Mark Hutchings continued to build fitness after injury with 28 possessions- which was nine more than the next best West Coast player.

Brayden Ainsworth  (16 touches), Hamish Brayshaw (13) and Xavier O'Neill  (12) struggled to have an impact on the match.

Western Bulldogs

STATE LEAGUE AFFILIATE: Footscray (VFL)

Footscray 19.14 (128) defeated Frankston 5.17 (47) (VFL Rd 6 - Fri May 21)

After controversy surrounding comments from father Scott, Rhylee West responded with a best-on-ground performance, kicking 3.3 and picking up 26 touches.

Josh Schache kicked three goals of his own, while Will Hayes (28 possessions) and Riley Garcia (27) were the stars in the middle of the park.

Mitch Wallis only had 16 touches with one major, while Louis Butler impressed in his best game for the VFL side.
