The AFL Players’ Association MVP Award nominees for 2018 have been revealed.

The Leigh Matthews Award for the league's most valuable player - as voted by the players - is among a host of awards that will be announced at the ceremony on August 30, including the best captain, best first year player, most courageous and 22under22 team.

Matthews. Carey. Voss. Abletts Jr and Sr. Fyfe. Dangerfield. And, most recently Martin.

Huge names, and all rewarded for their big years to join a very exclusive club.

The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process.

First, players nominate three teammates for the award.

Then, three nominees from every club are presented to the league-wide playing group for a vote to decide the winner.

Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.

Check out the nominees from all 18 clubs.
