Mid-season rookie draft: Carlton select Josh Deluca with pick one image

Carlton have selected former Docker Josh Deluca with pick one in the inaugural mid-season draft.

The 23-year-old midfielder has impressed while playing for Subiaco in the WAFL since being delisted by Fremantle.

Deluca managed four games in three years on the list at the Dockers before being cut loose at the end of 2017.

He was recently named the best player for the WAFL representative side in their match against the SANFL.

With the second pick in the draft, Gold Coast took Mitch Riordon from Dandenong Stingrays.

Melbourne's selection rounded out the top three, taking Kyle Dunkley of Gippsland Power.
