Melbourne vs Collingwood: Wrong kick reviewed as umpires produce another score review howler image

UPDATE

AFL House has released a statement saying that the incorrect footage was not used in the score review process but was simply a mistake shown in the broadcast.

The AFL has a new clubhouse leader for the worst umpiring howler of 2019.

In the early stages of the first quarter of the Melbourne-Collingwood match, a Brody Mihocek goal was sent upstairs for a score review.

The first two angles proved inconclusive, so a second angle was then played on the screen.

The second angle showed the ball clearly touched a Melbourne hand, except it was the wrong kick being reviewed.

The new angle was showing a kick from Mihocek's Pies teammate, Jordan Roughead.

Fans were quick to savage the umpires for the 'incompetent' and 'embarrassing' decision.

It is yet another shocking decision from the AFL's Score Review system which has been under fire all season.

It included a bizarre howler that saw David Zaharakis' goal wrongly overturned.

You can watch the decision from the Melbourne-Collingwood game in the player below.

Is this the worst decision of the 2019 AFL season?
