North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs: Jarrod Waite makes high contact with Jackson Trengrove image

Jarrod Waite may have a nervous wait ahead of him after an incident in North Melbourne's clash against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

Early on in the first term at Etihad Stadium, the footy was sent down the boundary line by the Roos' Ben Cunnington.

With opposition follower Jackson Trengrove easily getting to the ball first, he appeared to take the mark just on the inside of the field.

Trengrove only had eyes for the footy and not for Waite who came from behind and got him with a bump that appeared to make contact with Trengrove's head.

Watch the incident in the video below.

It's clear that Waite gets him late, and his elbow certainly makes high-contact, meaning Match Review Officer Michael Christian might be involved.

"Well, that's right in front of us," Garry Lyon said on Fox Footy's broadcast.

"I've gotta say, I'm not one bit surprised that Jarrod Waite's done this, because, that's what he tends to do.

"He has these little brain fades where the thinks, 'I'm going to make him earn that'.

"He's damn lucky that's not a 50-metre penalty."

The fact that Trengrove got up and played on after the incident may help Waite, but should it?

Considering that Trengrove might be lucky to escape serious injury shouldn't help Waite avoid punishment because he made late contact and raised his arm.

Nick Dal Santo said in the first-quarter break that Waite is likely to just receive a fine.
