North Melbourne big man Ben Brown extended his lead at the top of the Coleman Medal table, kicking two goals in the win over Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Brown was able to stretch the gap back to second in round ten after Jack Darling was held goalless in West Coast's win over the Hawks.

Demons spearhead Jesse Hogan was the big winner last weekend, booting five goals as Melbourne thrashed Adelaide, taking him to third place on 26 goals.

Fourth-placed Jack Riewoldt wasn't able to add to his 24 goals after getting concussed in the first quarter of the Tigers defeat of the Saints.

While Riewoldt was out of action, his teammate Josh Caddy stepped up, booting six goals to launch him up the table.

Early-season sharpshooter Luke Breust also went goalless as the chasing pack passed him by.

Sydney's Lance Franklin has returned from an injury but could only bag the one in tough conditions against Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday.
