AFL injury list: The injuries ahead of round 11 image

Another round of AFL is in the books and another weekend of action lurks just around the corner.

We've got all the latest word on which of your club's players are due back soon and which ones are set for a spell on the sidelines.

This week, high-flying West Coast welcome back a star, Essendon get a boost and a Hawks gun on the comeback trail.

ADELAIDE INJURIES

The Crows are set to get Paul Seedsman back for Sunday's clash with GWS after he was a late withdrawal on the weekend. Defender Luke Brown will need to pass a concussion test. Rory Sloane is ramping up training with Adelaide hopeful he can return in a fortnight or so. Captain Taylor Walker  (glute) and Riley Knight (hamstring) are looking at similar timeframes. Brad Crouch 's return date is less certain, while Mitch McGovern is still six or more weeks away.


BRISBANE INJURIES

Matt Eagles picked up an abductor injury in the loss to Sydney which will sideline him for a few weeks. Rohan Bewick is still some way off with a broken hand.

CARLTON INJURIES

The Blues revealed that Tom Williamson will miss the rest of the season following scans on his back this week. Levi Casboult , Nick Graham , Cillian McDaid  and  Alex Silvagni are all hoping to be available to take on Sydney on Friday night. Jarrod Pickett and Matt Kennedy are both still around two weeks away, while captain Marc Murph y will miss a month after aggravating a foot problem.

COLLINGWOOD INJURIES

Daniel Wells will be available for the clash with Fremantle, while Brayden Maynard faces a fitness test. Alex Fasolo is due to miss plenty of footy with an ankle problem. Travis Varcoe picked up a hamstring injury to join a long list of Pies with the same injury.  Jamie Elliott Darcy Moore  and  Josh Smith  are all nursing hamstring injuries and will be unavailable for at least a few weeks.

ESSENDON INJURIES

Michael Hurley is a chance to return from a hamstring injury against Richmond. Midfielder Darcy Parish broke his thumb in the VFL and will miss two months, while Patrick Ambrose will be out for around three weeks with a calf injury.  Joe Daniher , Marty Gleeson and David Myers are hoping to come back in the next fortnight or so.

FREMANTLE INJURIES

Stephen Hill  came back from a left quad injury but injured his right quad against North Melbourne and is likely to miss two to three weeks. Aaron Sandilands has been ruled out with concussion ahead of the clash with Collingwood on Sunday. Bradley Hill remains a couple of weeks away, while Matt Taberner 's foot injury isn't progressing as well as the club would like.


GEELONG INJURIES

Esava Ratugolea badly broke his leg against Carlton and is likely to miss the rest of the season. Harry Taylor  (foot) and Lachie Fogarty (groin)will be monitored during the week ahead of Saturday's trip to the Gold Coast. Scott Selwood , Nakia Cockatoo and Cam Guthrie are all nearing a return but unlikely to feature this week. Daniel Menzel and Lachie Henderson are both several weeks off.

GOLD COAST INJURIES

The Suns get a boost with the return of captain and spearhead Tom Lynch from a knee injury. Jesse Joyce is expected to return against Geelong this week, while Jesse Lonergan and Sean Lemmens are likely to come back through the NEAFL.  Brayden Fiorini had a setback and is out for around two months.

GWS INJURIES

Captain Phil Davis is due back from concussion though that might be it for the injury-hit Giants. Matt de Boer is probably a week away, Toby Greene 's return date from a foot injury is unknown while Brett Deledio is out long-term with a calf problem.

HAWTHORN INJURIES

The Hawks have revealed that Cyril Rioli is due back after the round 12 bye. James Cousins ' concussion will be assessed ahead of the clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday.


 

MELBOURNE INJURIES

Tom McDonald (foot) and Sam Weideman (calf) will need to pass fitness tests before the Dees meet the Dogs on Saturday. Dean Kent is a fortnight away with his hamstring injury.

NORTH MELBOURNE INJURIES

Sam Durdin picked up a head knock against Freo and is a chance to miss out this weekend, while Taylor Garner injured his hamstring in the VFL.

PORT ADELAIDE INJURIES

Todd Marshall (shoulder) and Trent McKenzie (quad) didn't finished the game in the SANFL and look set for stints on the sidelines.  Matthew Broadbent is building up to a return from an ankle injury.

RICHMOND INJURIES

Jack Riewoldt was concussed against St Kilda and is a doubt to take on Essendon. Dylan Grimes (back) needs to proves his fitness during the week but should be right to return, while Jason Castagna is less likely to come back from knee issue. Bachar Houli picked up a groin injury and is due a few weeks on the sideline, joining Dion Prestia and his troublesome calf.

ST KILDA INJURIES

Hardnut Mav Weller should play against West Coast following a concussion, while Brandon White faces a test on a cork. Josh Bruce (back), Nathan Brown (knee) and Nathan Freeman won't play this week but should all be fit following the Saints' round 14 bye. Koby Stevens will miss the rest of the season as he battles concussion.

SYDNEY INJURIES

Callum Mills broke his foot in a freak accident and will miss the rest of the season following surgery. Lewis Melican injured his other hamstring as he neared a return to full fitness. He and Sam Reid will now be targetting a return after the round 14 bye. Alex Johnson looks set to play in the NEAFL this weekend.

WEST COAST INJURIES

The Eagles are expected to welcome back Luke Shuey from a hamstring injury to take on St Kilda. Elliot Yeo and Nic Naitanui are both expected to play despite doubts over their fitness. Chris Masten and Liam Ryan are both on the comeback trail, along with Eric Mackenzie and Will Shofield .

WESTERN BULLDOGS INJURIES

Zaine Cordy (concussion) and Aaron Naughton (ankle) are both a chance to return against Melbourne in round 11. Clay Smith and Tim English remain several weeks away.
