Geelong v Collingwood: AFL streaker facing $50,000 fine and two weeks in quarantine image

A 28-year-old man is probably waking up questioning his life choices as he faces a $50,000 fine and two weeks in quarantine after streaking during the Geelong-Collingwood match at Optus Stadium in Perth.

The man jumped the fence and ran onto the field, breaching the AFL's quarantine zone by going onto the playing surface.

Four security staff, all dressed in biohazard suits, were required to take the man off the field.

Thanks to Western Australia's relaxed COVID-19 restrictions, last night's match saw a crowd of 30,000 people allowed at Optus Stadium.

WA's stage four restrictions means that half the venue's capacity was allowed to attend.

The official crowd number for Thursday night's match was 22,077.

The reason the fine for streaking is so much larger than the $5,500 you might usually see is because State Emergency Act conditions were in place for the match.

This means that the playing surface was declared a quarantine zone

You can watch the incident and the resulting tussle in the videos below.

It was clear for all at the stadium that the fine had been increased for the incident with the massive TV screens displaying the consequences throughout the night.

On the field, Collingwood put in a dominant display to win 8.9.57 to 5.5.35.

Jordan De Goey kicked five goals for the match including three in the final-quarter.

It was his first match back after being charged with indecent assault by the Victorian Police for an incident in 2015

Bruce McAvaney was forced to apologise during the match for calling De Goey's charge 'a hiccup' in commentary leading up to his first goal of the night.

Geelong's night was made worse after suffering two key injuries during the match.

Skipper Joel Selwood finished the match on the bench after suffering a slight hamstring string.

While promising youngster Jordan Clark had a disappointing return to AFL footy after being taken off the field with a shoulder injury.

Cats coach Chris Scott confirmed that Clark dislocated his shoulder, but they're not yet sure of the severity of the injury.
