Hawthorn's Jonathon Patton being investigated after sending lewd images to female on social media image

Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton is being investigated over accusations of lewd behaviour on social media.

The former no. 1 draft pick is the subject of an internal club inquiry after he allegedly forwarded intimate photos to a female on social media, according to a Herald Sun report.

The club released the following statement confirming the matter.

“Hawthorn Football Club is aware of allegations made on social media regarding the behaviour of Jonathon Patton,” the statement read.

“The allegations are of behaviour that does not reflect the values and standards of Hawthorn Football Club.

“As soon as it became aware the club addressed the matter with Patton directly and clearly communicated that any behaviour of this nature would not be tolerated.

“The club takes these allegations seriously and has referred the matter to Hawthorn’s Integrity Committee.

“Hawthorn promotes and advocates for equality and respect for everyone and demands this same behaviour from all involved with the club.”

Patton, 27, has since deleted his social media accounts in the wake of the incident.

Patton was taken with the first pick in the 2011 draft by the Giants, playing 89 games for the club before being traded to the Hawks ahead of the 2020 season.

The forward-ruckman has been plagued with injuries throughout his career, managing just six games in his new colours last year.
