GWS star Stephen Coniglio is set to become the most in-demand free agent after Fremantle confirmed their interest in luring the Western Australian back home.
Entering free agency for the first time in his career, the 25-year-old's worth is projected to exceed $1.1 million per season.
It's understood that the club and Coniglio's management have started an early dialogue, and as a restricted free agent he would be among the Giants' top 25 per cent of earners.
With a deal far from confirmed, Carlton and Hawthorn are expected to be the leading clubs from Victoria to chase down the Western Australian.

But speaking to 6PR on Tuesday night, Dockers CEO Steve Rosich has confirmed Fremantle's interest in luring Coniglio back to his home state.
"(Coniglio) is an obvious target for clubs," Rosich told the program.
“He’s at a good club and he’s a young West Australian free agent. So, I’d be negligent if I didn’t have a coffee with (his agent) Tom Petroro.
"We've got a real underbelly of young players forcing their way through. We think we can continue to add to that, not only by the draft, but players from other teams."
As rival clubs eye off fellow midfielder Josh Kelly, re-signing Coniglio will be one of the top priorities at Greater Western Sydney.
Being with the Giants since the club's inception, the former Swans Districts junior is a favourite to become its future captain.
However, Carlton has shown that the Blues have the finances to match Coniglio's lucrative price tag. The club pitched a seven-year deal to his then-teammate Dylan Shiel last year, before the former Giant ultimately signed with Essendon.
The gun Giant could also be lured down to Hawthorn, where he would be united with close friends Jaeger O'Meara and Brownlow medallist Tom Mitchell.
Considering that the Melbourne club missed out on signing Rory Sloane and Tom Lynch last year, Waverley Park could hold a long-term position for Conglio.
