Crows Head of Football Brett Burton said the club was extremely disappointed in Wilson’s actions, but will continue to support him.
“It is a serious breach of the standards we set for our players, coaches and staff both on and off the field, and importantly the expectations of the wider community,” Burton said in a club statement.
“Paddy is obviously regretful of his actions, has taken full responsibility, and the club will provide him with the necessary support and further education.”
Wilson made his debut for Adelaide against Hawthorn in round 17 last year after being drafted as a mature-age recruit from Sturt.
He is expected to face court in March.
