Day 2 in Tokyo saw the Aussies doing the country proud across a range of events, as we ended the day with three medals.

In the pool, the women's 4x100 freestyle relay team claimed gold with a remarkable world record-beating swim, the Boomers enjoyed an encouraging first-up win over a strong Nigerian outfit in the basketball, while the Kookaburras hammered fourth-ranked India in the men's hockey.

All eyes will be back on the swimming on Monday, with 20-year-old 2019 World Champion Ariarne Titmus bound to go head-to-head with American Katie Ledecky in the women's 400m freestyle final, billed as one of the most highly-anticipated medal events this Olympic games.

Emma McKeon, a member of the gold medal-winning relay team on Sunday, will also swim in the women's 100m butterfly final for a chance to grab her second gold.

Ariarne Titmus has claimed the gold medal for the Women's 400m Freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics after narrowly edging out her American rival Katie Ledecky. 

12.31 pm - Mitch Larkin takes second in the Men’s 100m Backstroke Semifinal 1 and will be third fastest for Tuesday's final

12.37 pm - Isaac Cooper swims a 53.43 in Semifinal 2 of the Men's 100m Backstroke and misses out on the final.

12.59 pm - Kaylee McKeown & Emily Seebohm finish in second and third in their semifinal for the Women's 100m Backstroke. They both qualify for Tuesday's final (third and sixth fastest, respectively)

1.05 pm - Kyle Chalmers, Cameron McEvoy, Zac Incerti, Alex Graham have won a bronze medal in the Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay final thanks to a fantastic final swim from Chalmers. USA took out the gold while Italy claimed the silver.
