Three men have been sentenced to prison for their part in a drunken bashing near the MCG after last year's finals clash between Richmond and Hawthorn.

Sons of distinguished Tim Walker QC, Dominic and Sam Walker, and Benjamin Fitt all pleaded guilty to two counts of intentionally causing injury in the attack on two men near Melbourne Pullman Hotel on September 7th.

Dominic Walker was sentenced to a year, Sam Walker was sentenced to six months and Benjamin Fitt was handed a four-month jail term at Melbourne's Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

Shortly after his sentencing, Sam Walker's lawyer lodged an appeal, meaning he has been released on bail for his hearing on February 3rd.

Fitt's lawyer also reportedly lodged an appeal, to which he later informed the court he would not being following through with.

Dominic Walker's lawyer is yet to have lodged an appeal, but could do so in the coming days.

Magistrate Duncan Reynolds said the midnight attack, in which the court was told each of the men were intoxicated to some degree, was "gross and unjustifiable".

Victims Leonard Triciaro and David Raeside could be seen in footage of the incident being provoked and repeatedly struck whilst on the ground outside the hotel.

Mr Reynolds has ordered the three men serve two-year community corrections orders, and once their jail terms are completed they will be banned from entering licensed premises.
