Whilst stating he's arguably the best half in the competition at the moment, immortal great Andrew Johns has issued a warning to in-form Mitchell Moses ahead of Parramatta's huge semi-final against Melbourne.

Moses entered the finals on the back of some career-best form, and put on a playmaking masterclass on Sunday as he steered his side to a historic 58-0 thrashing of the Brisbane Broncos.

The crafty number seven was at his best at Bankwest Stadium, laying on two tries, scoring two himself and kicking seven goals to end the afternoon on 20 points.

Moses' form line has many believing he can lead his side to a huge win over the minor premiers in Melbourne on Saturday.

However, Johns told Channel Nine's Freddy and the Eighth the Eels playmaker mustn't let the noise get to him going into what will be a bigger test at AAMI Park.

"I think Mitchell Moses has got to be careful," Johns said.

"Sometimes you have those really big wins, massive wins, and you can take that mindset of the last 20 minutes into the next game.

"He has to build it again, he has to break down the Storm wall by field position and his kicking game.

"Which I don't think will be a problem, because at the moment he's probably the best half in the competition."

New South Wales coach Brad Fittler, who has made it known how big a fan he is of the dynamic Eels halfback in the past, agreed with Johns.

"Gus (Gould) used to always use a good analogy of a cricketer going into the second day after scoring a hundred," Fittler told on Freddy and the Eighth.

"The next day, he didn't go out like it was the last over; he'd have to rebuild the innings and start again. Get your eye in and go again."

Johns is confident the momentum Parramatta are carrying into Saturday's crunch final following their mammoth elimination final win will see them upset the Storm on their home turf.

"Two points, I've got the Eels winning by," he said.

"They play a style of footy which worries the Storm. They offload, they move the ball. But it's a fine line. You have to do that without making errors. I'm going to go the Eels (because of) momentum and the way they play.

Fittler highlighted the test for the Eels will be how they manage their defence, and more specifically slowing down Storm giant Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

"I've always had a bit of a concern for their on-line defense, which is going to get tested," Fittler added.

"Someone's going to have to make a big tackle on Nelson.

"I think during the year they've had players that have missed those tackles. If they make them they can beat them."
