Kane Cornes lashes Suns players for dressing up on Mad Monday

Outspoken Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes has lashed Gold Coast Suns players for celebrating Mad Monday after the Queensland side's abysmal 3-19 season.

The Monday following the last round of the season traditionally sees those clubs who missed out on finals celebrate by dressing up and getting together.

However, Cornes has hit out at Suns players, after rookie forward Jack Lukosius posted a photo to Instagram of him dressed up as Olympic swimmer Mack Horton alongside fellow teammates.

More: What went wrong with each team that missed finals? | Named: All-Australian 40-man squad

“Can someone tell @GoldCoastSuns that they won 3 games and lost 18 in a row. #DressUps”. Cornes tweeted on Monday.

It's not the first time Cornes has spoken out about his disapproval towards unsuccessful clubs participating in the famous celebration, after he called out Richmond players in 2016.

Carlton's Daisy Thomas and Swans legend Warrick Capper trade costumes

Retiring Blues star Dale Thomas has claimed best costume of the day after going all out to dress as former Sydney cult hero Warwick Capper.

What made the costume even more remarkable was that Capper himself came along for the celebrations, dressing up as Thomas during his Collingwood days.
