Best Super Bowl commercials in 2020

Jeep - "Groundhog Day"

It’s Groundhog Dog all over again for Bill Murray, who goes on a hilarious adventure with Punxsutawney Phil in Jeep’s Super Bowl commercial that pays homage to the actor’s 1993 comedy classic. Murray is once again trapped in a time loop, forced to relive Groundhog Day, but instead of loathing the day — he actually enjoys it, thanks to the presence of a Jeep and his little groundhog pal.

Planters - "Baby Nut"

After killing off Mr. Peanut in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, Planters brought him back as the adorable "Baby Nut." The ad featured the Kool-Aid Man, who reincarnated Mr. Peanut with his tears.

Cheetos Popcorn — "Can't Touch This"

Stop – it’s Hammertime! In this comical Super Bowl commercial that features MC Hammer, Cheetos helps a man avoid all the things he doesn't want to do because he has Cheetos dust on his hands.

Rocket Mortgage - "Jason Momoa"

Rocket Mortgage's freaky Super Bowl commercial starring Jason Momoa really got people talking. Throughout the ad, the "Aquaman" star was seen getting comfortable at home. As he walked around his house, he peeled off his muscles as if they were fake and also removed a wig to reveal a bald head.

"What does home mean to me?" Momoa said in the commercial. "It's my sanctuary. It's the one place I can let my guard down. It's where I can just kick back and be totally comfortable in my own skin."

Hyundai - "Smaht Pahk"

Boston natives Chris Evans, Rachel Dratch and John Krasinski had a little fun with the Boston accent in this funny Hyundai commercial.

WeatherTech — "Lucky Dog"

WeatherTech's commercial moved Super Bowl viewers to tears with an ad about funding cancer treatment for animals. It stars Scout, a 7-year-old golden retriever, who beat cancer despite being given a 1-percent chance of survival.

From WeatherTech.com:

Last February, he was the shining star of our Super Bowl commercial. Then just a few months later, he collapsed without warning. He was diagnosed with a rare tumor on his heart, and the prognosis wasn’t good. Dogs with his specific type of cancer typically have only a 1% survival rate at 12 months.

Fortunately for Scout, he met with a team of exceptional people at The University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, one of the leading veterinary schools in the country. These experts (and heroes!) devised a cutting-edge treatment plan that has resulted in Scout’s tumor all but disappearing. Thanks to ongoing treatment at the University, Scout is living his best life!

Amazon - "Before Alexa"

Amazon gives a comical view on the world before Alexa,  let's the world What did we do before Alexa?

Worst Super Bowl commercials in 2020

These commercials may have appealed to some, but overall failed to impress most Super Bowl viewers.

GenesisUSA - "Going Away Party"

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are one of America's most-loved celebrity couples, but unfortunately, this Super Bowl ad didn't bring many laughs.

SquareSpace - "Winona in Winona"

Puns are fun but this commercial, starring actress Winona Ryder, seemed to lack comedy. It shows Ryder hanging out on a roadside next to a "Welcome to Winona" sign. When approached by a police officer who asked what she was doing, Winona replies that she's building a website about Winona.

McDonald’s - "Famous Orders"

McDonald's commercial was creative but felt lacking for such a big franchise. In the 30-second ad, McDonald’s revealed the orders of celebrities like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and multiple athletes like Magic Johnson and Travis Kelce. They also jokingly highlighted orders from characters including Dracula (who really likes ketchup), the Hamburglar (lots of hamburgers), and even Julius Caesar (a caesar salad).
