Western Bulldogs star Bailey Smith has been reported for headbutting Geelong utility Zach Tuohy during Friday night's match at Marvel Stadium.

As the Bulldogs drew to within 11 points on the three-quarter-time siren, a fracas between both teams ensued, with Smith using his head to make contact with Tuohy's in the melee.

Tuohy had a red mark on his forehead where Smith struck him, with the officiating umpire immediately reporting the Bulldogs midfielder for his action.

Smith now faces a nervous wait to see if he is offered a penalty by the Match Review Panel, or if the case is sent directly to the AFL Tribunal.

The Bulldogs have the bye in round 13 but Smith's participation in their round 14 clash against GWS is likely in jeopardy.
