Sydney Swans youngster James Bell has revealed he broke into an Indigenous dance as a tribute to his extended family after booting his first-ever AFL goal.
The 20-year-old celebrated in style after kicking his maiden senior major in the fourth quarter of the Swans’ big win at the MCG on Friday night.
He was engulfed by his jubilant team-mates but not before he paid a memorable tribute to his family and his culture on the game’s biggest stage.
A special moment for Belly!

“That was for my family back at home,” Bell told Channel 7 after the game.
“I’m from 20 minutes south of Wollongong in Shellharbour but I’ve got family all up and down the coast.”
Bell had eight disposals and four marks to go with his goal as the young Swans romped to an emphatic victory.
