North Melbourne officially part ways with head coach David Noble, following the side's 14th-straight loss on the weekend.

The 55-year-old has delivered just one win from 16 games for the Kangaroos this year, and the decision for the club to cut ties will come as no surprise.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday morning, Noble said that he is content with his contribution to North Melbourne, despite his departure.

"Gave my absolute heart and soul .. comfortable I gave my all to this place," Noble said.

"We both walked away comfortable that this was the right call for myself, my family and the club going forward.

"I always worked in the best interests of the players, the staff and the football club... but ultimately, the scoreboard doesn't make for great reading.

"Aside from my family, football is my life. I am so fortunate to be involved in this game for 30 years.

"I feel I have unfinished business in this industry."

President Dr. Sonja Hood said on Tuesday morning that in a performance-based industry, losses wouldn't cut it.

"While we appreciate that we are at the beginning of a rebuild, it doesn't give us a free pass in terms of expecting competitive performances. We entered this season optimistic about 2022 because of our record in the second half of 2021 and solid off-season recruiting," Hood said.

"Resisting the urge to dream big, we set a simple benchmark - improve on last year, compete consistently against the teams around us on the ladder and play a brand of football that challenged the competition's best teams.

"Put simply, we have failed to live up to those expectations, and that is why we have agreed to end David's tenure as coach."

CEO Ben Amarfio elaborated on how North Melbourne will improve its list, looking at all options to help develop the club.

Noble was in charge of North for 38 games since taking over in 2020, winning just five of them.

Their most recent loss came at the hands of Collingwood on Saturday, with the Magpies running out 88-81 victors at the MCG.

Leigh Adams will take over as interim coach for the remainder of the year, and the Kangaroos will now be on the hunt for their fourth full-time coach in the last five years.
