Richmond Tigers co-vice captain, Jack Riewoldt will remain at the club until the end of the 2021 season after signing a two-year contract extension.

The premiership winner is leading the Tigers' goal-kicking stats for a ninth consecutive year and only needs to kick one more to become the eight player in AFL/VFL history to kick 45 or more goals in nine straight seasons.

Riewoldt was an integral part of Richmond's incredible run to the 2017 flag and won the Jack Dyer Medal in 2010.

He's also a dual Coleman Medallist (2010 and 2012), a two-time All Australian and has played 243 games for the Tigers.

Riewoldt also caused international headlines when he took the mic and sang a few lines alongside The Killers as he celebrated Richmond's premiership win at the MCG in 2017.

"We love what Jack brings to our football club,” Richmond's general manager of football, Neil Balme said in a statement released by the club.

“Jack is a wonderful leader, selfless team player, and great clubman, and it’s fantastic that he’ll continue his journey here at Richmond.

"Jack’s a talented player and continues to evolve his game, and also spends time supporting his teammates in their own development, and we love that team-first nature about him.”

The news comes just weeks after the club confirmed the re-signing of Riewoldt's fellow co-vice captain, Alex Rance.

Richmond are currently in top spot on the AFL ladder on 56 points - four ahead of West Coast.
