The dust has finally settled on AFL post-season activity and all 18 clubs have completed their lists for 2019.

Who’s come in via trades, free agency and the national and rookie drafts? Who’s gone out the other way?

And, most importantly, how does the list look after all the changes?

This week, Sporting News is going through each club’s changes to analyse whether steps have been taken forwards, backwards or if they’re just treading water.

Hawthorn’s 2019 list

Just about all of the Hawks’ list moves are a roll of the dice: can Scrimshaw get his attitude in shape for AFL football, can Scully do the same with his body, is the Koschitzke name a genetic plus or just a spell-check nightmare?

Even the guaranteed class and excitement Wingard brings is offset by what Burton does at Port Adelaide, and that could be plenty.

Duryea and Whitecross are also losses that will have an impact, and then there’s Rioli …

Verdict

If Scully can return to his best and Scrimshaw become a contributor then the Hawks have nailed it, but if both fail then this off-season could be the nail in the coffin of Hawthorn’s golden era.
