While Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch is still the most sought-after AFL player coming out of contract this year, his Adelaide namesake is getting plenty of attention as the Crows fail to meet his demands.

Lynch is a crucial cog in the Adelaide machine and is considered the best link man in the business, yet the Crows are still some way away from agreeing to what the 27-year-old is seeking.

And as negotiations drag out, four Victorian clubs are reportedly circling with interest in the ex-Sandringham resident.

Foxfooty.com.au said on Wednesday that Carlton, Melbourne, North Melbourne and St Kilda are all keeping a close watch on Lynch and his contract talks with Adelaide.

Lynch started his AFL career at the Saints, taken as a first-round draft pick (No.13 overall) in 2008, but only played six games with the club before being traded for pick 37 in the 2011 draft.

St Kilda used that selection on Jack Newnes.

The Saints are keen to bring proven performers into their side to get a move up the ladder back on track, while the Kangaroos are also still be in the market for big-name players and have a war chest of funds available to offer.

Carlton could clearly do with an injection of both experience and class, but Lynch will be 28 by the end of this season and seemingly at odds with the Blues commitment to a long-term rebuild.

Adelaide’s list manager Justin Reid is travelling to Melbourne to speak to Lynch’s management this week.

Interestingly, Lynch was also reported as having been in Melbourne over the weekend, apparently looking at houses with a view to buying.
