Demons star Christian Petracca is set to play through a broken leg in the semi-finals, after suffering an injury against the Swans.
Melbourne went down 91-69 to Sydney at the MCG on Friday night, leaving them fighting for a spot in the prelims next weekend and allowing the Swans a crucial week off.
Petracca was involved in a heavy collision with Buddy Franklin in the defeat, with scans revealing a hairline fracture to his fibula.
But in good news for the Dees, the 26-year-old is set to line up for the side against Brisbane.
Melbourne general manager of football performance Alan Richardson said the injury is not expected to sideline the star midfielder.
“The advice from our medical team is that a fracture of this nature will not rule Christian out of selection for our semi final.
“The fracture poses no further risk to Christian and will not impact his ability to play.
“What will pose more of a challenge for Christian is the corky he sustained to his calf in a collision that occurred in the first quarter and hampered his movement for the majority of the match against Sydney.
“Obviously Christian will need to tick some boxes throughout training this week but we are confident that he will be ready to go come Friday.”
Last year's Norm Smith Medal winner will take on the Lions next weekend in an attempt to keep their premiership hopes alive.
