Newly appointed Lions captain Dayne Zorko has inked a contract extension that will keep him in Brisbane until the end of 2021.
The one-year addition to his already lucrative contract was a surprise given the 30-year-old was already locked in for two more AFL campaigns.
But Zorko, who is entering his first full season as skipper of the Lions, has been granted an extra season of security by Lions management.
The Surfers Paradise product has made the most of his AFL career so far after he was passed over by every club in four straight drafts.

The 2017 All Australian midfielder has won the Lions’ previous four best-and-fairest awards and is still at the peak of his powers.
He made his AFL debut in Round 7 of the 2012 season and has kicked 161 goals to date.
