The 21-year-old returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.095 percent during a random breath test in Port Melbourne with his licence suspended and subsequently disqualified from obtaining a licence for the next six months.

De Goey notified Collingwood of the incident, with the club set to meet on Monday to decide what action will be taken.

The young midfielder copped some criticism from teammate Tyson Goldsack last month who said that De Goey was "not as fit as he could be".

De Goey was suspended for three games at the start of last season after breaking his hand in a bar fight and lying about it to club officials.

A nominee for the 2015 AFL Rising Star, De Goey has made 50 appearance for Collingwood after debuting three years ago.

He was limited to just 14 games last season as the club finished 13th.
