Any hopes of a career in acting have been swept aside for Sydney ruckman Callum Sinclair.

Sinclair can accept a $1000 fine after he was found guilty of staging during the Swans' win over Carlton on Friday night at the SCG.

The incident occured early in the third quarter, with the Swans trailing Carlton by a point.

Sinclair had just won a free kick in Sydney's forward line after being held by opposing ruckman Matthew Kreuzer at a boundary throw-in.

However, with a slight touch from Patrick Cripps, Sinclair collapsed to the SCG turf as though his legs had turned to water.

Umpire Jacob Mollison thought nothing of the contact, and sent Sinclair a simple, yet effective warning: "There's nothing in it, you've fallen over."

Sinclair got up, dusted himself off and kicked the the goal.

Mollison's quip to bring Sinclair back to earth wasn't the only ripping comment from the night; earlier, fellow umpire Nick Foot copped a sneaky sledge from Sydney defender Dane Rampe.

After Rampe was penalised for a hold on Carlton forward Charlie Curnow as he tried to lead for the ball, Rampe fired a clever remark at the umpire, "Clarko will be happy with that. Did you have a coffee with him too?"

Rampe had referenced Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson, who was panned after he met with AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan after he complained about Sydney's blocking tactics.

Carlton's Sam Rowe was also fined after Friday's game, with the Blues defender copping a $1500 sanction for misconduct against Sydney star Lance Franklin.

Sydney will travel to Etihad Stadium to take on St Kilda in round 12, while the 1-10 Carlton will certainly enjoy the week off.
