Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor has come in for heavy criticism after confusing Sydney defender Aliir Aliir for North Melbourne’s Majak Daw during the Swans' seven-point loss to Collingwood at the SCG on Friday night.
The on-air gaffe came in the opening quarter when the umpires blew a free kick against Aliir for an over-zealous challenge on Daniel Wells.
“Here’s Wells, Majak Daw, too much body,” Taylor said on Channel 7.
Taylor immediately corrected his blunder, saying: “Sorry, Aliir Aliir, sorry.”

But his apology wasn’t enough for some fans who voiced their disgust on social media.
Well, Brian Taylor apparently called Aliir Aliir 'Majak Daw' in commentary tonight so uhhhh yeah there's that.

We would be still hearing about it in July if Eddie Mcguire had called Allir Allir Majak Daw however it's @7AFL Brian Taylor who appears to be there just to perpetuate the Australian buffoon commentator role. #AFLSwansPies.

How’s Brian Taylor’s form referring to Aliir Aliir as Majak Daw? 😳

Taylor has previously come under criticism for pronouncing Essendon star Orasio Fantasia’s name incorrectly.
So anyway, Brian Taylor, fresh of telling Orasio Fantasia that "in Australia we say Fan-tay-shya", confused Sudanese player Aliir Aliir with Sudanese player Majak Daw.

How’s Brian Taylor’s form calling @aliir_mayom Majak Daw? BT is probably happy with himself for pronouncing Daw the right way #AFLSwansPies
