Angus Brayshaw has re-signed with Melbourne until 2028, making him a Demon for life.
Amid plenty of speculation, Brayshaw has turned his back on free agency, signing for another six years in the red and blue.
Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb was stoked to have secured the 26-year-old's services.
“Angus is a leader of our club and to have him commit long term is a brilliant result. His talent is obvious to all and his willingness to put the team first and play whatever role we need him to is a testament to his character, ” Lamb told Melbourne Media.
“This signing is another great endorsement for the culture we have created and we know Angus will continue to drive standards within the group."
Lamb alluded to Brayshaw's footballing ability, having the capacity to play in a multitude of positions and being one of the best players in 2022 for the reigning premiers.
“The versatility he has displayed across his career makes him an enormous asset to our club. The great thing is Angus still has enormous growth in his game and we are excited about what he will produce in the future."
Playing 137 games since making his debut in round one 2015, the number three pick in the 2014 draft made an immediate impact and was crucial in the rise to premiership contention in 2018 and 2021.
Brayshaw came third in the Brownlow in 2018, polling 21 votes and played a pivotal part in Melbourne's premiership-breaking season.

The half back joins Clayton Oliver (2030) and Christian Petracca (2029) in recent times, signing long-term deals.
Brayshaw re-signs. What about Luke Jackson?
Brayshaw's re-signing has been a sigh of relief for Demon fans, but the signature of ruckman Luke Jackson is still up in the air, with fear the WA-boy will return home.
Jackson's decision on whether he stays or goes will be put on hold until the completion of the season, despite the 20-year-old expected to request a trade to Fremantle, according to The Age.
The 2021 Rising Star winner has been a force to be reckoned with, who stood up in the absence of All-Australian ruckman Max Gawn at times as well as being the perfect Robin to Gawn's Batman.
The pair have quickly become the best one-two punch in the competition and have proved that time and time again, including in the 2021 finals series.
However, the lure back home could cause a domino effect, with many other players seeking new homes, including Rory Lobb from the Dockers.
A mock trade was created which saw Jackson return home to Fremantle, while Melbourne received want-away forward Lobb as well as a list of picks.
