Andrew Gaff to face Fremantle in JLT Community Series, says West Coast coach Adam Simpson image

Suspended West Coast midfielder Andrew Gaff will play in next Sunday’s JLT Community Series clash against the Fremantle Dockers.

The Eagles star is eligible to participate in the pre-season tournament despite still serving an eight-match ban for his infamous king-hit on Docker’s rookie Andrew Brayshaw last season.

He will miss the first two rounds of the AFL regular season over the sickening incident that ended his 2018 campaign prematurely.

But coach Adam Simpson confirmed he won’t hide the 26-year-old from facing the Dockers for the first time since the incident that rocked the AFL community in Round 20 last season.

The All-Australian enjoyed a strong hit-out in Friday’s 34-point triumph over Geelong but will face intense scrutiny both before and during the Dockers encounter.

Gaff and Brayshaw have reportedly met more than once during the off-season, including for a round of golf, and have settled their differences.

It is unlikely Dockers fans and Brayshaw’s team-mates will be as forgiving towards the Eagles star.

The two clubs are also scheduled to meet in Round 4 of the regular season.
