Xavier Duursma, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher trade done

After over a week of negotiation, an agreement has been reached on a trade deal involving Essendon's Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Port Adelaide's Xavier Duursma.

Port Adelaide gets its defensive target, in addition to two future fourths and pick 73, while Essendon adds Duursma to its midfield.

And with that, the AFL Trade Period has come to a close. Pick swaps will be back on the table on Monday, October 23, with the No.1 Pick potentially up for grabs.

Hawthorn finalise key trades

Brisbane and Hawthorn have come to terms on a deal that sees Jack Gunston return to this former club and forward Brandon Ryan join the Lions' forward mix.

The Hawks also gain picks 47 and 61 and a future third-rounder tied to Brisbane, in exchange for pick 39, a future third, and a future fourth.

Hawthorn then sent that future third to Gold Coast for Mabior Chol and pick 62.

Massimo D'Ambrosio has also made the switch from Essendon to Hawthorn, with the Hawks giving up pick 61 and a future fourth tied to Collingwood.

That concludes a complex trade period for the club, which should be happy with a number of key acquisitions including Jack Ginnivan.

Jack Billings makes way to the Demons

Melbourne has swapped its future third round pick for St Kilda midfilder Jack Billings.

It was another season burdened by injury for Billings, who has had limited opportunity to display his potential in his AFL career.

The former No.3 pick is a classy ball user and complements Melbourne's mix of hard-working onballers.

Hollands brothers reunited at the Blues

Carlton has traded pick 26 and a future third (tied to Essendon) to Gold Coast, in return for Elijah Hollands, pick 28, and the Suns' future fourth.

Hollands, a former top-ten pick, will now reunite with brother Ollie at the Blues as he looks to build on an injury-affected start to his AFL career.

The 21-year-old managed nine games for the Suns this year, and can play as a hybrid midfielder-forward.

Port Adelaide finalises Esava Ratugolea, Jordon Sweet deals

Defender Esava Ratugolea and ruckman Jordon Sweet will join Port Adelaide's next campaign, with the Power finally making its breakthrough on deadline day.

It took picks 76 and 94 in addition to pick 25 to convince Geelong to part ways with Ratugolea, while just selection 50 was needed to appease the Bulldogs for Sweet.

As a result, Port Adelaide is left with no remaining picks in the 2023 draft.

Richmond adds Jacob Koschitzke

Richmond's offer of pick 49 for Jacob Koschitzke has been accepted by Hawthorn.

The Hawks were after a future selection for the young key forward, but settled on the Tigers' initial offer talks stalled.

Koschitzke played 13 games in the VFL this season, as he fell out of favour in the Hawthorn forward mix.

Despite the 23-year-old's drop in form, Richmond is keen to add more attacking depth to their list in the wake of Jack Riewoldt's retirement and Tom Lynch's injury woes.

Jack Ginnivan: Hawks land small forward in pick swap with Pies

The move comes following the Pies' recruitment of Lachie Schultz from Fremantle to play a similar role, while Tyler Brockman has departed the Hawks.

Ginnivan will join the rebuild at Hawthorn who made strides in 2023 with a young list.

Elijah Hollands: Carlton get their man cheap

Elijah Hollands will join the Blues in a deal which will the see Gold Coast and Carlton shuffle some picks.

The Suns will move up two places from 28 to 26, while some further selections will be involved as well, reports Tom Morris.

Hollands has played 14 games in two seasons for the Suns, having recovered from an ACL injury in his draft year.

Ivan Soldo: Richmond and Port Adelaide agree deal for ruckman

Port Adelaide have agreed a deal to bring premiership ruckman Ivan Soldo to the club.

According to journalist Cal Twomey, Port will give up pick 41 and a future second-round selection to the Tigers for the 27-year-old.

A further shuffle of picks is expected to be included in the deal.

Soldo has played 57 senior games for Richmond, including the 2019 grand final.
