With the AFL trade period done and dusted, it's time to pick out which deals were the best of the bunch.
Did Collingwood win in the Lachie Schultz trade? Did any of the Swans deals rank with the best?

AFL trade period: Best five deals
5. Jack Ginnivan (Hawthorn from Collingwood)
Hawthorn get: Jack Ginnivan, Pick 39, Collingwood's future second and fourth
Collingwood get: Pick 33, Hawthorn's future second and third.
The premiership Magpie made his way to the Hawks in a surprise deal after Lachie Schultz's move to Collingwood clogged up the club's small forward quota.
Hawthorn didn't essentially lose any draft picks to snare Ginnivan, but downgraded their picks, depending on the Magpies' success next season.
If Collingwood do strongly in 2024, it will see Ginnivan's value in the trade land in the early 20's but the reverse will see his value slide to near 30.
While there is question marks over Ginnivan's off-field behaviour, he is still 20 years old and has a 40-goal season (2022) under his belt already.
With the departure of Tyler Brockman to West Coast and Luke Breust's veteran status, Hawthorn could use a small forward coming through.
The question is whether Ginnivan can develop into a consistent elite small forward and regularly kick 40-plus goals.
4. James Harmes (Western Bulldogs from Melbourne)
Western Bulldogs get: James Harmes
Melbourne get: Bulldogs' future third
The curious case of Harmes, who suddenly found himself squeezed out of Melbourne's team with no way back in during the latter part of 2023.
The decision to let go Harmes is even more curious when you consider Clayton Oliver has issues, Angus Brayshaw suffered a heavy concussion in finals and James Jordon joined Sydney as a free agent.
Harmes has just turned 28, has played 152 games and has some solid football under his belt, including averaging 24 possessions a game in 2019, and 21 per game in the Demons' 2021 premiership year.
With Marcus Bontempelli needing more support in the Bulldogs midfield, there is no doubt Harmes can help alongside Tom Liberatore in this area.
A player of Harmes' experience for only a future third-round pick seems like a savvy deal.

3. Liam Henry (St Kilda from Fremantle)
St Kilda get: Liam Henry, Fremantle's future fourth
Fremantle get: St Kilda's future second and fourth
The Dockers will be devastated to lose Henry, who looks like he is just about to hit his straps after a slow start to his career.
At 22, Henry has only played 43 games, but he averaged 20-plus disposals in 2023, tallying three games over 30 possessions as he began to show his talent on the wing.
There is a feeling the pick no.9 from the 2019 draft is only just starting to scratch the surface with his potential, and the Saints could have really found a player.
Because Henry was out of contract and only became a regular for Fremantle this season, St Kilda also got a price for the talent, effectively giving up a future second-round pick only.
Henry should slot in on a wing at St Kilda, but could also play at half-forward and half-back.
2. Xavier Duursma (Essendon from Port Adelaide)
Essendon get: Xavier Duursma
Port Adelaide get: Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Pick 73, Essendon's future fourth, Carlton's future fourth
Of all the players Essendon picked up during the trade period, Duursma has the highest ceiling.
The wingman burst on to the scene in his debut season in 2019, and looked to be a budding star, averaging 19 disposals a game.
But since then, Duursma has struggled to get on the field regularly with injury, particularly concussion, hampering his development.
If the Bombers can get the 23-year-old's body right, they have a long-term wingman on their hands.
And the price they paid, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and a few late picks, is fairly low.
1. Lachie Schultz (Collingwood from Fremantle)
Collingwood get: Lachie Schultz
Fremantle get: Collingwood's future first, Pick 34
Schultz was the biggest name to get moved during the AFL trade period, which shows there was no bonafide superstars dealt in 2023.
But the small forward is a handy addition to a premiership team and certainly adds to a mix that features Bobby Hill, Jamie Elliott and Beau McCreery.
The 25-year-old has also shown he can go through the midfield and will become a weapon for Magpie coach Craig McCrae.
Schultz's devastating best was on display when he won the Ross Glendinning medal during the Western Derby with 24 disposals, five goals and seven inside 50's.
