Fremantle's start to the 2023 season has been utterly disappointing after making the semi final last year.

The club has been belted across the past fortnight and have only managed to defeat an injury-depleted West Coast side and Gold Coast outfit.

Their opponents, Hawthorn, were always in for a tough year given the lack of experience on their list.

However, despite sending Jaeger O'Meara (Fremantle) and Tom Mitchell (Collingwood) to rival clubs, their young midfielders have surprisingly held up and impressed in their absence.

If the Dockers lose this one at home, then expect coach Justin Longmuir to be ducking for cover.
