St Kilda's Dan Butler may face the chopping block this week after a disappointing performance against Sydney in round 15.
Butler managed a measly five touches and a goal from 73 per cent game time, but lacked any impact in the forward half, as the Saints went down by 51 points.
Bradley Hill is likely to take his place following his absence due to personal leave, but will be expected to be selected in the senior side for the clash against Carlton, which could define St Kilda's season.
Cooper Sharman is also likely to make room for the returning Paddy Ryder, who was managed for the trip to the SCG.
Sharman, who's struggled to fight through the Marshall/Ryder duo, collected six disposals from 80 per cent game time and couldn't find his way into the game, with coach Brett Ratten opting for the veteran over the mid-season recruit.
Carlton could have an array of regular starters back this week, with Adam Cerra and Jack Martin a chance to return this week.
Jesse Motlop and Josh Honey both had quiet games in the win over Fremantle, as neither managed to kick a goal playing as small forwards.
Motlop has struggled to hold his spot in the senior side and is one most likely to make space for the returning stars while Honey could be replaced by either Martin or Matt Owies, if he's deemed available.
Lachlan Keefe may also find himself in the reserves this week, as the ex-Pie lacked impact in the narrow loss to his old side.
Keefe, who played predominantly in the ruck, couldn't get his hand on the footy during stoppage or around the ground, resulting in 10 hit-outs and six touches from 69 per cent game time.
The return of Braydon Preuss (suspension) and Phil Davis over the last week will almost force Keefe out of the side and back into the twos.
Collingwood's debutant Isaac Chugg is another unlucky one facing the chopping block, with the return of troubled star Jordan De Goey imminent.
De Goey trained with the club on Tuesday for the first time since the Bali incident and is a chance to face the Suns on Saturday night, replacing Chugg after a quiet showing against the Giants.
