Errol Gulden Sydney 111.3 $622,100
Caleb Serong Fremantle 111.2 $621,600
Tom Green GWS 111.2 $621,500
Lachie Neale Brisbane 110.4 $617,000
Andrew Brayshaw Fremantle 109.0 $608,900
Adam Cerra Carlton 108.3 $605,400
Darcy Parish Essendon 108.1 $610,800
Adam Treloar Western Bulldogs 107.7 $601,800
Connor Rozee Port Adelaide 107.6 $601,200

Marcus Bontempelli is by far the best Supercoach midfielder in the game, but he will set you back a hefty $700k-plus. You can either stump up the cash now or hope to get him cheaper later. It might be safer to empty the bank straight away.

With Clayton Oliver appearing to be a flight risk, his Demons teammate Christian Petracca looms as someone who could lift their average from 2023.

Nick Daicos is probably better selected in defence, but his multi-position could come in handy, while Lachie Neale will provide consistency.

Several young stars entered elite Supercoach midfield status last year, including Zak Butters, Luke Davies-Uniacke, Errol Gulden, Caleb Serong, Tom Green and Connor Rozee.

Backing a few of these stallions to continue their upward trend is also a smart play.

Cheaper/Bargain/Mid-Priced Midfielder Options

Name Club 2023 Avg. Price
Tim Taranto Richmond 106.7 $596,100
Noah Anderson Gold Coast 104.9 $586,300
Sam Walsh Carlton 103.2 $576,800
Jack Macrae (FWD) Western Bulldogs 99.9 $558,400
Jai Newcombe Hawthorn 98.3 $549,200
Touk Miller Gold Coast 97.6 $545,500
Shai Bolton (FWD) Richmond 96.7 $540,700
Jordan De Goey Collingwood 96.6 $539,900
Jack Steele St Kilda 94.8 $529,500
Sam Flanders (FWD) Gold Coast 88.4 $494,200
Taylor Adams (FWD) Sydney 78.2 $437,200
Nat Fyfe (FWD) Fremantle 50.7 $283,200
James Jordon Sydney 49.3 $275,500

It's Nat Fyfe's second season in a row at a bargain price, but it's worth noting he was a failed selection last season. Keep a close eye on his pre-season.

Noah Anderson and Jai Newcombe both look like players who could step up a gear in 2024, as does Sam Flanders with his multi-position.

There is a few fallen premiums in the mix including Jack Steele and Taylor Adams, who both should average more than last season.

Sydney's hefty midfield injury list should give plenty of early opportunities to James Jordon in the engine room.
