Port Adelaide's season is all but over, following a loss to Collingwood.

Essendon's strong form continues, taking care of North Melbourne.

St Kilda sit inside the eight after facing Hawthorn on Saturday, but there spot is still under jeopardy.

Sydney's push for top four continues after thrashing cross-town rivals GWS by 73 points.

Brodie Grundy is all but set to make his long-awaited return to senior football, after playing in the VFL over the weekend.

Injuring his PCL in the Anzac Day clash back in round six, Grundy has been biding his time to join his teammates at the elite level, with coach Craig McRae making him earn his spot in the side.

The two-time All-Australian spent most of his time in the ruck, collecting 11 disposals, 21 hit-outs, five clearances and nine tackles.

With the form that both Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox are in, it will be hard for Grundy to come straight back in but the upcoming task against Melbourne could force McRae's hand.

Tarryn Thomas could return for his first game since round 15, after dealing with issues on and off the field.

The youngster was impressive in the reserves gathering 26 possessions, six tackles and six clearances in a dominant performance.

Thomas hasn't hit expectations so far in 2022 but North Melbourne would be hoping he'll finish the season off strong.

Darcy Tucker has almost forced his way into the senior side with an outstanding performance in the WAFL, banging on the door of coach Justin Longmuir.

Tucker had a day out, kicking three goals and amassing 38 touches, nine marks and seven tackles as Peel Thunder recorded another win.

The 25-year-old has struggled to cement his spot in the team but is looking to return for the first time since round 13.

Western Bulldogs could make some changes following a loss to top of the ladder Geelong over the weekend, with their season now hanging in the balance.

Alex Keath was dropped for the game down at GMHBA Stadium, but may be recalled for the clash against Fremantle.

Keath was quiet but had 14 touches and seven marks.

Stefan Martin is also a viable option for Luke Beveridge against the Dockers' midfield consisting of Sean Darcy.

Martin was strong in the VFL, collecting 14 touches, 28 hit-outs and 10 clearances in a win.
