AFL players in the reserves: Who's pressing their case for a senior return via VFL, WAFL or SANFL? image

With only five games remaining, there is still plenty to play for across the AFL.

Richmond's shock loss to North Melbourne keeps the door ajar for Port Adelaide and Gold Coast to make the eight, while Western Bulldogs and St Kilda are right on their tail.

Collingwood and Sydney have made a strong push towards the top-four, especially after Fremantle lost to the Swans.

Geelong etched themselves as the number-one seed in the competition after taking down Carlton over the weekend.

Following Carlton's loss to Geelong, coach Michael Voss could welcome back some key players, as the Blues look to bolster their big men stocks.

Mitch McGovern and Marc Pittonet played in the VFL on the weekend in a bid to return from injury and got through the game unscathed.

McGovern was handy, collecting 17 touches and a goal while also being strong in the air.

Pittonet had 22 hit-outs, nine clearances and 15 disposals in a dominant display.

Voss may not rush the pair back for the Giants game but could be handy inclusions in the coming weeks.

Oliver Henry has responded superbly from being dropped the second time this year.

Henry kicked four goals whilst gathering 16 possessions and looked to be his lively self, something that's disappeared in recent weeks at the top level.

Although Collingwood managed to beat Adelaide over the weekend, the high-flying forward will come into consideration for their match-up with Essendon on Sunday.

Was used as the sub in the Crows game, Henry could jump back into the 22.

Tom Campbell is almost a lock to be brought into the senior side after Paddy Ryder injured his achilles.

Campbell has been in stellar form recently and this weekend was no different, kicking one goal, 14 clearances, 26 touches and 45 hit-outs and the Zebras came away with the four points.

Brought across as a back-up ruckman, the former Roo and Bulldog will be a perfect replacement for Ryder as the Saints look to get their campaign back on track.

Gold Coast's Jeremy Sharp could force his way into the side after an impressive outing in the VFL.

Sharp kicked three goals and amassed 27 disposals and was one of the Suns' best.

Stuart Dew and the Gold Coast would be kicking themselves as they gave up an opportunity to jump into the eight with a win over the Bombers.

Now they'll look at the upcoming Q-Clash as a means of finding their ninth win of the year.

Plenty of Suns were down against Essendon, so Sharp could replace a handful of players.
