After a thrilling 2024 home-and-away season, record-breaking AFL membership figures have been revealed.

The league announced that a total of 1,319,687 memberships were sold this past campaign.

This is a 4.3 per cent increase on last year's figures and means 1 in 20 Australians are a member of an AFL club.

Collingwood finished the season atop the membership rankings, with Carlton and West Coast the only other teams with more than 100,000 members.

Of the 18 clubs, 13 broke their all-time membership record.

"Footy fans are the greatest in the world and they have not only turned up in record numbers to games this season but have cemented their support by becoming members in record numbers," AFL CEO Andrew Dillon said.

"Our 18 clubs do an incredible job of continuing to drive the passion and commitment of all our fans."

AFL attendance numbers 2024

A total of 7,756,268 fans went to matches across the 2024 home-and-away season – an all-time attendance record.

The average crowd per round was 323,178.
