It represents the stories of Lions premiership players Des Headland and Ash McGrath.

Carlton

The Blues have released their guernsey for Sir Doug Nicholls Round, designed by Tiwi woman Russellina Puruntatameri.

The design reflects traditional Tiwi culture, with elements that represent the Kulama Ceremony and Pamajini (arm bands).

Collingwood

Djab Wurrong and Kirrae Wurrong artist Tarni Jarvis has designed Collingwood's guernsey.

The southwest Victorian technique of crosshatching is used to create the white stripes of the jumper.

It will also be worn by the club’s Super Netball team in a dress format.

Essendon

Essendon have worked with students Momo Willcox - a Yawuru girl born on Wurundjeri Woiwurrung Country - and Jackie Sinclair to create their Indigenous guernsey.

It features Waa the Crow, which is one of the moiety totems for the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Eastern Kulin nation.

The guernsey will be worn for the Bombers' Dreamtime at the ‘G clash against Richmond.

The jumper is a representation of Pearce’s story, travelling from Tasmania to Noongar country to play for Fremantle.

Geelong Cats

Geelong's guernsey is designed by Awabakal woman Michelle Searle.

Each section/band on the jumper represents a different story.

“To be able to see and contribute to the Cats and the guernsey is quite overwhelming and i am so grateful to have this opportunity and share our culture to the world," Searle said.

Gold Coast Suns

Gold Coast's Indigenous jumper has been designed by Suns defender and Indigenous artist Jy Farrar in collaboration with members of the local community.

“The inspiration behind the artwork is that we wanted a painting that symbolised bringing everyone together and we thought what better way than to have the broader community be part of its creation," Farrar said.

GWS Giants

Leeanne Hunter - who designed the Giants' 2019 Indigenous jumper - has designed GWS' guernsey again for this season.

The guernsey has been named 'Ngurra', which means 'country and connection' in Darug language, the native language of the lands of Western Sydney.

Hawthorn

Hawks player Jarman Impey has contributed to the design of his team's Indigenous guernsey for 2023.

The final creation of the jumper was executed by Wagiman man and Indigenous artist Nathan Patterson.

A sand artist, Hunter's design was digitised from a physical artwork onto the jumper.

Both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags feature on the front of the guernsey for the first time.

Sydney Swans

The Swans will wear the same design in 2023 that they sported last season.

Designed by Wiradjuri woman Lua Pellegrini, the guernsey features individual circles representing each of the Swans First Nations alumni.

West Coast Eagles

The West Coast Eagles guernsey revolves around the themes of connection, unity and a shared love for the club with the 2023 First Nations Guernsey.

Designed by AFLW player and proud Kija and Jaru woman Krstel Petrevski, the guernsey is inspired by cultural features which symbolise the unity of the football club.

Petrevski sought advice and consultation from elders Simon Forrest and Vivienne Hansen to ensure the guernsey represented appropriate elements.

Western Bulldogs

For the first time in history, all four teams (AFL, AFLW, VFL, VFLW) will wear the design in their respective rounds.

Designed by Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta man Jason Walker, the Bulldogs' design displaying etchings which represent the Bulldogs’ staff, players and supporters connection to country and journey throughout life.
