Brisbane went down by four points to Collingwood in the AFL grand final and had several players not perform anywhere near their capabilities at the MCG.

The Sporting News rates all of Brisbane's players in the AFL Grand Final against Collingwood.

Brisbane player ratings - AFL Grand Final

Deven Robertson - 4

Competed hard early in the match but failed to have much impact in the second half when it counted. 13 disposals. Probably his last game as a Lion with a move to West Coast looming.

Joe Daniher - 8

Three goals and eight marks is an excellent performance in a final. He also competed well in the air to bring the ball to ground. Did miss a gettable set shot in the last quarter to put the Lions in front.

Callum Ah Chee - 1

Had a decent finals series but was anonymous in the Grand Final. Was subbed out for Jarryd Lyons in the last quarter. Only had six possessions.

Josh Dunkley - 7

One of Brisbane's better midfielders. Had five clearances and four tackles. Did a solid job to reduce Jordan De Goey's midfield impact but the Magpie snuck forward to kick two crucial goals.

Hugh McCluggage - 7

Only one disposal in the first quarter. But got going in the second term with an early goal. Two goals and 21 possessions put him along the Lions' better players. Also had five tackles and four clearances.

Jarrod Berry - 1

Gave away two crucial 50m penalties in the second half. Had no impact on the match with nine disposals. Won't look back fondly.

Lachie Neale - 6

Had three disposals and no clearances in the first quarter but got going and produced a solid performance throughout the match. Was well held by Pendlebury in the centre and Mitchell around the ground.

Lincoln McCarthy - 8

Kicked two classy goals and had a huge impact whenever he had the ball. Would have liked to have found more of it though - only having seven disposals.

Dayne Zorko - 6

Did a few nice things and always put his head over the football. Might have liked to have more impact in his 250th match

Cam Rayner - 2

When is he going to arrive as a big-game player? Just couldn't get himself involved in the game. His strongest impact was dropping into defence late in quarters.

Jarryd Lyons - N/A

Was a last quarter substitute. Had four possessions.

Keidean Coleman - 8

Brought his own footy in first quarter. 13 touches. Constantly hitting up targets through the centre. Had 22 possessions at half-time but only 26 at the end of the match. Close to Brisbane's best player.

Charlie Cameron - 7

Wasn't in the game much but kicked three goals from seven touches - showing how dangerous he can be from limited possessions. Quaynor did a good job in one-on-one contests.

Conor McKenna - 5

Didn't have his best game for the club with only 13 disposals, but did gain nearly 500m. Although most of that was probably from kick-outs.

Darcy Gardiner - 6

Probably shared the honours with Mihocek, who only kicked one goal but had some impact presenting up to the wing.

Jaspa Fletcher - 2

A young kid who looked out of his depth on the biggest stage. Will learn and will be a good player going forward.

Eric Hipwood - 4

Presented all day but dropped marks, fumbled the ball and generally struggled to have a positive impact on the game. Also shanked a shot on goal early.

Harris Andrews - 7

Tagged by Frampton. Was blunted early but got on top of the make-shift Collingwood forward in the second-half to have an impact. Nine marks.

Zac Bailey - 7

Looked a Norm Smith possibility after kicking two amazing goals in the first quarter. Influenced the game when he found the footy but needed to get more of it. 13 touches.

Ryan Lester - 7

Kept Jamie Eliiott off the goalscorer list and had 18 disposals of his own, with plenty of rebound. One of Brisbane's best.

Brandon Starcevich - 2

A great defender who was given a bath by Bobby Hill, who kicked four goals and won the Norm Smith. Just wasn't his day and wasn't given much support from the likes of Wilmot and McKenna.

Darcy Wilmot - 4

Been a breakout season for the rebounder but he had a grand final to forget. We didn't see his drive off the backline much. Also struggled to lock down on opponents.

Oscar McInerney - 8

Lost the hit-out battle 31-28 to Mason Cox but managed 10 clearances in a monster second-half.
