According to Caroline Wilson on Footy Classified on Monday night, the game on Saturday night will go ahead.

“I can tell you that the players who were in contact and have found to have been in close contact with Conor McKenna last Friday will be named tomorrow morning,” she said.

“I can’t tell you who they are, but I can tell you that the Essendon v Carlton game will go ahead. This situation I gather is manageable.

"I would say a handful of players, whether that’s three, four or five players, will be forced to go into quarantine alongside Conor McKenna.

“But the Essendon v Carlton game, as I understand it, will go ahead.

“It won’t be the entire back six. I wish I could tell you who those players are, but those names are being kept tightly under wraps. But we will know early tomorrow who they are.”

McKenna is reportedly set to be santcioned over the breach of protocols, after he attended five open houses last week before testing positive to COVID-19.

Essendon's clash against Melbourne will be rescheduled for later in the year, the AFL confirmed on Tuesday.
