AFL confirms Grand Final entertainment: Black Eyed Peas and Jimmy Barnes image

One of the worst kept secrets in AFL history has finally been revealed with the Black Eyed Peas and Jimmy Barnes officially announced as the entertainment acts for the 2018 Grand Final.

Sporting News' AFL snoop the Rover reported last week that the two acts would take the stage on the big day.

The schedule for the day has yet to be released but it's believed the Black Eyed Peas will be performing before the match with Barnes slotted for the post-game concert.

The US band will be without founding member Fergie who left the group last year. Other original Black Eyed Peas will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo will make the trip.

"We are honoured to be heading to Melbourne to perform at the AFL Grand Final day," the band said in a statement.

"This is the biggest day in Australian sport, so we will be pulling out all the stops for this special performance."

Legendary Australian rocker Barnes seems the perfect act for the AFL Grand Final and his 1984 hit 'No Second Prize' will be sure to get a lot of airtime in the lead up to the last Saturday in September.

"I'm looking forward to singing at one of the world's greatest sporting events," Barnes said.

"It's going to be a huge day on the ground at the MCG. It doesn't get bigger than this, 100,000 passionate football fans and rock 'n roll will be a great mix."
