Greater Western Sydney was delivered some good news with the AFL clearing Toby Greene of any misconduct over two separate incidents in which he raised his foot to fend off opponents on Saturday.

However, the league did fine Greene $2500 for misconduct in what appeared to be a kneeing incident with Sydney’s Luke Parker.

The decision not to lay charges was made by Match Review Officer Michael Christian on Monday morning.

Greene’s ‘Chuck Norris’ style of marking in the elimination final raised the ire of commentators and fans alike and, while no Sydney players were hurt, it made many recall the small forward’s foot to Western Bulldog Luke Dahlhaus’ face in 2017.

The often irritating Greene is now clear to face Collingwood in this Saturday night’s semi-final and is sure to cause plenty of grief for the Magpies defenders, raised foot or not.

Other decisions from the match review process saw Richmond’s Josh Caddy fined a total of $3000 for two incidents against Hawthorn, Swan Zak Jones fined $2000 for a high bump and Greene’s teammate Jacob Hopper forced to fork out $2500 for careless umpire conduct.
