Melbourne vs Carlton best bets - First Semi Final

While it's not as good value as the match score in Melbourne's game last week, it looks a good option to back the total match score being under 160.5

We know Melbourne are a terrific defensive team, and they have been struggling with their own scoring in past weeks.

Eight of nine of the Demons' games against teams in the finals this season have had the total match score under 160.5.

It's also worth mentioning the total match score was 116 when Melbourne and Carlton played in round 22.

Nic Newman has had a terrific season with some Blues fans thinking he was stiff to miss All-Australian selection.

In his last six games, Newman has covered 25 disposals in five of his matches, just falling short against Sydney last week.

Newman is priced at $1.98 to hit 25+ disposals and this looks to have some value considering his recent form.

Port Adelaide vs GWS best bet - Second Semi Final

A tense semi final between Port Adelaide and GWS is sure to provide fans with some memorable moments, especially with stars like Toby Greene and Zak Butters running around.

Butters, who wasn’t at his best last week, is set for a big game. The 23-year-old midfielder has kicked a career-high 13 goals this year, and will need to step up with the Power forward line struggling.

Alternatively, Connor Rozee, who’s going at just under a goal a game (0.88) is good value at 1.60 to kick a major.

It goes without saying that Greene is the Giants' best player, but he’s also one of the club’s most versatile, too.

In round 22, the GWS livewire swapped into the midfield as coach Adam Kingsley tried to turn the tide on a Power trashing.

Greene was immediately effective and finished with 27 touches, suggesting the strategy could be used again against Port Adelaide.

In his two most recent games, the Giants captain has had totals of 19 and 18 as a forward, so you can expect him to near the 20+ disposals mark regardless of position.
