A number of AFL stars are set to be out of contract at the end of the 2024 season.
Clubs will be hoping to extend the contracts of key non-free agents, such as Errol Gulden, Connor Rozee, and Ben King, while rivals will monitor those qualifying for free agency.

AFL Free Agency
To become a Free Agent, a player must be one of the following:
- Players entering their eighth or ninth season and who are in the top 25 per cent of the club's earners are Restricted Free Agents.
- An Unrestricted Free Agent is a player who's spent eight years at one club but is outside the top 25 per cent of the club's earners or has spent 10+ years under contract.
- Players delisted at any stage of their career and at the end of their contract automatically qualify as free agents.
If a player fails to qualify for free agency but is out of contract, they can only move clubs via trade or the draft.
